Welcome to HSC!
Health Sciences Centre (HSC) Winnipeg is the largest health care centre in Manitoba. We are an interdisciplinary team of nearly 8,000 staff and volunteers who serve people in Manitoba, northwestern Ontario and Nunavut.
HSC is the designated Trauma Centre for Manitoba, as well as the centre for transplants, burns, neurosciences and pediatric care. Our highly skilled teams of professional staff provide acute care and continuing care.
As an operating division of the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority, we provide comprehensive diagnostic, outpatient (ambulatory) and inpatient services that support the physical, medical and emotional needs of the people and communities we serve. Our clinical programs include:
- Adult Emergency
- Adult Mental Health
- Child & Adolescent Mental Health
- Child Health
- Clinical Health Psychology
- Critical Care
- Diagnostic Imaging
- Women's Health
We also care for cancer patients with our partner, CancerCare Manitoba, located on the HSC campus.
HSC plays a special role in providing primary care to the community surrounding the hospital and in the core area of Winnipeg, as well as to Aboriginal and Inuit peoples across Manitoba, northwestern Ontario and Nunavut. We also work with community agencies and health facilities inside and outside of Manitoba to provide several specialized province-wide programs unique to HSC.
We are formally affiliated with the University of Manitoba, whose students learn from us, and where many of our staff teach and do research.
HSC is accredited by the Canadian Council on Health Services Accreditation.
