The Immunology Laboratory provides services to the patients of the
Health Sciences Centre and in conjunction with St. Boniface General
Hospital Immunology Lab, serves as a referral centre for other urban
and rural health care facilities and clinics. The laboratory provides
testing for investigation of diseases of the immune and hematopoietic systems: lymphoproliferative and immunoproliferative disorders, leukemias, immune deficiency, and autoimmune disease.
The test menu includes flow cytometric analysis (from functional neutrophil studies, and lymphocyte subset enumeration, to highly complex immunophenotyping of leukemia), protein electrophoresis and immunofixation for investigation of monoclonal protein disorders, immunoprotein investigation by
nephelometry.
