| The Executive
of the Medical Staff Council is chaired by the President of the Medical
Staff. This is a two-year elected term and generally the President
has served on the Executive as the President-elect prior to his election.
The other members of the Executive consist of the Secretary and Treasurer.
The annual budget of the Medical Staff Executive runs at about $30,000.
The majority of our financial support goes toward the Annual Residents'
Reception and Dinner that is co-hosted by the St. Boniface General
Hospital and toward our research grant program.
Each Department also elects a member to
the Medical Staff Executive. It is the duty of the representative to
bring forth issues to the Executive that are particular and relative to
their departments. The Executive meets once monthly to discuss
ongoing issues.
