A Shared Health Facility
COVID-19 Information: Latest updates for Manitobans and resources for health providers.

Patients First: Your care is our first priority.

We will provide you with excellence in healthcare, nourish your hope for your personal health journey, honour your individuality and respect your needs.

A specialized team will look after you while you are here. Everyone -- including your doctors, nurses, dietitians, social workers, housekeepers and pharmacists -- contribute to your care and will do their best to make your experience as positive and comfortable as possible.

We will take the time to explain your care.

Whether you are admitted to hospital or visiting one of our clinics, we will explain what we are doing and why. If at any time you have questions about your care, please ask us. You can speak with your doctor or nurse, or any member of your care team. Every patient unit and clinic also has a manager or supervisor.

Help us keep you safe.

Your questions or comments about the care you receive helps us provide the best care possible. Questions can also help us see potential risk, errors or safety problems and correct them.

Students are part of your team.

HSC is a teaching hospital, so you may have students from university, college or hospital-based programs looking after you as part of your team with appropriate supervision.

Respect is a shared responsibility.

One of our key values is "honour". This means we will treat you, your family and each other with dignity, respect and fairness. We will share information in an honest, complete and timely manner while respecting your privacy and confidentiality. We ask that you and your family please do the same for our staff and others around you.

All of us at HSC – from those you will meet, to those who work behind the scenes – share the commitment to your care and our vision: Patients First.
