Description:
The Manitoba Nephrology Nursing Course (MNNC)purpose is to prepare nurses to deliver safe and comprehensive nursing care to nephrology patients. The MNNC program provides all training for dialysis nurses in Manitoba. 

The program is comprised of two parts, a distance education component and an on-site component. 

The distance education section involves completing objectives as outlined in the syllabus. An exam is required with the pass mark of 70% to complete this component. 

The on-site component consists of two weeks of in-class theory and lab, 4 weeks of supervised clinical practice and three weeks of preceptorship in a dialysis unit. There is a final exam written during week 6 with a pass mark of 70%. 

The cost of the program includes: Distance Syllabus at a cost of $20.00 and two textbooks at a cost of $100.00. The tuition fee for the program is $150.00 and funding is available. 

Entrance requirements for the MNNC program include: 

1. A graduate of an approved School of Nursing 
2. Active practicing membership in CRNM or CLPNM 
3. One-year full time equivalent acute medical/surgical experience 
4. Current B.L.S. 
5. Pass mark on the distance exam 
6. Must have secured employment in a dialysis unit in Manitoba
