Description:
The Department is responsible for ensuring that all staff, patients, visitors and structures are kept safe from fire. The Department is staffed by 1 full time employee with administrative support, and operates in conjunction with Security Services personnel. Day-to-day services provided by the Department include: preparation and distribution of Fire Plans to all areas of the Centre; fire safety and contingency plan education and training for all employees, students and medical staff; regular inspections of all HSC structures and life safety equipment; conducting of fire drills on all shifts in all HSC structures; and response to, and investigation of all fire alarms occurring within the Centre.

Hours of Operation:
Normal hours of operation are 08:00 to 16:00, Monday through Friday. 
Staff are available to conduct fire safety education sessions on a 24 hour basis providing suitable advance notice is given. Fire drills may be conducted at any time in any HSC structure. Alarm response is provided on a 24 hour basis by Protection Services Fire Safety and/or Security Staff.
