Rehabilitation
Engineering's Orthotics staff understand
the challenges faced by those with physical disabilities. Whether it's
the impairment of a limb due to a traumatic injury, or the physical
effects caused
by medical conditions, the Orthotics division offers devices
to increase an individual's independence. Most items are designed
and
custom-produced on site at Health Sciences Centre. Orthotic services
include spinal and limb bracing as well as footwear modifications
and insoles. All
devices can be
made for daily living or customized to specific activities. Our Orthotists,
and technicians are recognized by the Canadian Board
for
Certification of Prosthetists and Orthotists (CBCPO). Visit
