Health Sciences Centre
was formed in 1973 through an Act of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba
that brought together the Winnipeg General Hospital, the Women's Hospital,
the Children's Hospital of Winnipeg and the Manitoba Rehabilitation
Hospital.
This amalgamation led to
the creation of one of the most complete academic health centres in
Canada. In keeping with its role and services, the Health Sciences Centre
serves the health care needs of the entire province.
Integral partners on the 14.2 hectare site are CancerCare Manitoba, and a large variety of professional schools including the University of Manitoba's faculties of Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing, and Medical Rehabilitation.
In addition to insured
health care services, the Health Sciences Centre also provides many
uninsured services. This Service Guide web
page is your guide to these services.
