Provide screenings, assessments, consultations and direct therapy for communication, cognitive and swallowing impairments
Provide parent training classes, written information, and counseling to patients and families regarding communication and swallowing impairments
Provide consultation to patient care teams
Are available to provide presentations and in-services to Health Sciences Centre and Winnipeg Regional Health Authority staff and the broader Winnipeg community
Provide job shadowing and observation opportunities
Provide clinical placements for graduate students in Speech-Language Pathology
SLPs work with people who have difficulties with or disorders of:
Articulation (speech sounds)
Cognition (judgment, memory)
Language (speaking and understanding)
Stuttering
Swallowing
Voice
These difficulties or disorders may be related to:
Autism Spectrum Disorder
Brain Injury
Cancer and cancer treatment
Cleft lip and palate

Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders
