Ambassador - If you would like to help people find their way at Heath Sciences Centre, you may be interested in becoming an ambassador. People who are outgoing and enjoy talking to people are needed during the day, Monday to Friday. Call Sandy at 787-3533 for further information.
Admitting - Caring, committed volunteers needed to help patients get to appointments and clinics. If you like to walk while helping other, call Sandy at 787-3533 for more information. Early risers (6 am –9 am) are welcomed also.
Corner Store/General Store - volunteers needed for week day, morning or afternoon shifts. You can have fun building customer service and cash handling skills when you volunteer in the gift shops. Please contact Angie at 787-3533 if you have questions about this placement.
Guildy’s/Pedway is the hot spot for HSC visitors and staff. Volunteers build food service skills while working in a dynamic team environment. Please contact Angie at 787-3533 if you have questions about this placement. Evening, weekend and daytime shifts available.
Intensive Care Unit Visitor’s Lounge - Volunteers provide information and support to friends and family of patients in Intensive Care Units. If you have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to manage in an emotionally charged environment, please call Evelyn at 787-3533.
Children's - Children's volunteers provide friendly visiting on wards, the playroom and other areas such as Children's Emergency. Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age and have a current criminal record check. Call Sandy at 787-3533.
Spiritual Health Services - If you are involved in a daily spiritual practice and are comfortable working with diverse cultures, we need you visit patients. Daytime, Monday - Friday shifts are available. Please call Evelyn at 787-3533.
Flower Shop - Volunteers with experience in floral arranging are needed. If you like to be creative, you may enjoy volunteering as a floral assistant. Daytime, Monday - Friday shifts available. Please call Angie at 787-3533 for details.
Magazine Merchandisers - Volunteering in a retail setting as a Magazine Merchandiser allows you to interact with customers and staff. If you have good organizational skills and are available Wednesday afternoon, please call Angie at 787-3533.
Lunch & Leisure Program - Patients at the Health Sciences Centre need volunteer visitors to help with their “Lunch and Leisure” program. Volunteers will assist the Recreation Coordinator by providing patients an opportunity to have a social lunch in a cafeteria setting. If you have time Monday – Friday between 11:00 am – 1:30 pm, call Sandy at 787-3533 or email volunteer@hsc.mb.ca. Parking and bus tickets are provided for volunteers.
