How do I find a patient who is at HSC?
To find a family member or friend who is an inpatient at HSC or to enquire about a patient condition, please call our general inquiries number at 204-787-3661 or toll-free at 1-877-499-8774.

How do I get a consultation with a specialist or for a test?

All clinics and diagnostic tests at HSC are referral-based. Please contact your healthcare provider for a referral to the appropriate specialist or area.

How can I access my health information and medical records?

To access your health information, please print and fill out this form, http://www.hsc.mb.ca/files/PHIAReq.pdf. Return the completed form to Health Sciences Centre Winnipeg, Attn: Health Information Correspondence, MS137 - 820 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3A1R9 or by fax 204-787-5002.

Can my surgery be cancelled?
Yes. Your surgery can be cancelled prior to or following your arrival at the hospital. If this occurs, you will be informed of the cancellation and your procedure will be rescheduled as soon as possible by your surgeon’s office.

How do I find my appointment?
If you are not sure where to go for your appointment you can visit the Welcome Centre (look for the ? signs) located at the 700 William Avenue entrance and the 820 Sherbrook Street entrance. An information clerk will help you find your way.

What if I need help getting to my appointment once I am at HSC?
Staxis are transport chairs available for patients and visitors who need assistance travelling within HSC. They can be found at all main entrances to HSC. A loonie (refundable upon return) must be used to access the chair.

What are HSC’s visiting hours?
Family and friends are welcome to visit patients.Visiting hours are 8:30 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. in most units. Check with the nursing desk on the unit. Please be respectful to other patients in the area and keep in mind that the patient you are visiting will need time to rest and recover.

Can I send flowers to a patient at HSC?
Yes, you can send flowers to a patient at HSC. To keep our patients safe from infections, flowers are not permitted in some areas of the hospital. The HSC florist delivers for free within HSC. Please check for unit-specific flower restrictions by calling 204-787-3661.

Where is the lost and found located?
The lost and found is located at the Information Desk at the 820 Sherbrook Street entrance (Orange Bison Zone, Level 1). To enquire about a lost item, please call 204-787-3661.

How do I apply for a job at HSC?
